| KCA’s Star Performer arrives in the UK. |
Yasin Nizar, KCA’s Star Performer has arrived in the UK to perform live at the KCA Christmas and Silver Jubilee Celebration on the 20th December 2009 at East Ham Town Hall.
Yasin Nizar is the winner of 2 crore apple megastar (Jeevan TV) 2009 and Gandharvasangeetham (Kairali TV). He has also recorded a song for a new movie to be released in Jan 2010.

Video photography will be strictly prohibited inside the Town Hall as Kairali Europe will record the programme professionally as all rights are given to them. A DVD of the programme will be available for sale. Please contact Kairali Europe.
KCA Malayalam Mass in East Ham will be on first Saturday of the Month starting from January 2010 except in April where the mass will be on Sunday 4th April 02:30pm and Saturdays 06:30pm

| Westminster Bishop Alan Hopes Welcomes KCA Officials

Bishop Alan Hopes was born in 1944 in Oxford of London parents.
He was educated at Oxford High School until he moved to London in 1956, when he attended Enfield Grammar. In 1963 he began a degree in Theology at King College, London, taking his degree in 1966. He then attended Warminster Theological College and was ordained priest in the Church of England in 1968.
He served as a priest in the Church of England until 1994 when he was received into the Catholic Church. He was ordained priest in the Catholic Church in December 1995. After three years as Assistant Priest at Our Lady of Victories in Kensington, London he became parish priest at Holy Redeemer and St Thomas More, Chelsea.
In 2001 he was appointed as Vicar General and in 2002 became a member of Bishops' Conference Committee for Liturgy and Worship. In January 2003 he was appointed as auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Westminster.

| KCA Competition Reports |
The Kerala Catholic Association of the UK held its annual 5-a-side Football Tournament on the 25th July 2009 at Norwegian Playing Fields, Beckton. There were seven teams competing in the Men’s competition and three in the under-16s. There was five men’s teams from East London and two from Croydon being represented. The Men’s tournament was very competitive with not much between the top four in the Group phase.
Neville’s Devils beat East Ham Rams in the Semi final on penalties (3-2) after a 0-0 draw in normal time and East Ham A beat Real Madras 1-0 in the other semi Final.
Men’s Winners: Neville’s Devils

| MAIDEN SILVER JUBILEE CELEBERATIONS OF KCA |
|
KCA is celebrating 25th Anniversary on December 2009. It is proposed to release a souvenir to commemorate the event. Informative articles/Essays on current topics, poems, short stories, novelets, quotable quotes, points to ponder are welcome for the inclusion in the souvenir.
All the materials should be send to the KCA Secretary not later than July 2009. Advertisements are also welcome at reasonable rates. It is desirable that passport size photoÂ’s of the past President, Secretary, and Treasurer be included in the souvenir. Therefore, past office bearers may kindly send the photoÂ’s to the Secretary well in time before the end of July.
Those who are willing to act as associate editors, having some time to devote may kindly contact the Secretary for the allocation of editorial work. The members with previous experience in the field are preferable. The imaginative artwork/design is welcome for the front page cover which will include the logo of the KCA which may be picked from the website. Due recognition will be given to the artists by choosing it and acknowledging it with the appropriate write up in the souvenir along with photoÂ’s of the artists.
The co-operation and guidance of the KCA members, the families, friends and well wishers are requested to make this celebrations grand success.

| Kerala Sports Beat the League Champions. |
|
Kerala Sports club finished their season in emphatic style beating the League Champions, RGBs 15-5. Kerala Sports Club was the only team in the league to inflict the RGBs two losses of the Season. It brings to end a successful season for the boys who also won the League Cup.
The Kerala Catholic Association would like to thank the boys for their hard work and determination during the season. The Sports Club would also like to thank their main sponsors UAE Exchange.

| MAUK & KCA- To Organise Joint Family Funday |

Two leading Malayalee organisations in the UK – Malayalee Association of the UK (MAUK) and Kerala Catholic Association (KCA) have agreed to jointly organise the Annual Family Funday. This will be one of the biggest outdoor events organised by any Malayalee Organisation.

The programme was attended by Fr James Crampsey, S.J, Fr. Michael Barnes, S.J, Virender Sharma MP for Ealing, John Biggs London Assembly Member and other community leaders.
The educational award for the GCSE and A Level was won by Charmaine Antony and Lucy Angilose. There was an entertaining programme performed by various communities from UK. The Kerala Catholic Association unveiled a new shirt for the Kerala Sports Club and new KCA calendar for the community.
