Kerala Catholic Association of the UK celebrated Christmas and New Year on January7, 2006 at Newham Townhall, East Ham, London.

Kerala Catholic Association’s 2005 Christmas and New Year Celebration was held at East Ham Town Hall, Barking Road, East Ham, London E6 on the 7th January 2006 with the programme starting at 4 pm and ending at 9pm.

Newham Mayor Sir. Robin Wales was the chief Guest of the Celebration. Councillors Mr. Unmesh Desai, Mr. Paul Sathyaneshan, Mr.Ted Sparrowhawk,
Mr. Ian Corbett also attended the Event. The programme started with prayer songs by Lucy Francis and Jeena Jacob.

The association president, Terence Kabalias welcomed the guests. Fr.George Keeramkuzhi spoke about the meaning of Christmas celebration and gave his blessings to the events of the day.

Children's variety entertainment was the highlights of the event. The programme participants were Albert Vijayan, Alex, Daniel Rozario, Elenora Peter, Evangeline Terbin, Jemima Pereira, Joji Disilva, Joshua Clement, Joy, Kurapa, Lekshmi Mohan, Lucy Francis, Mervin Peter, Natalia Silva, Natasha Nelson, Natahsa Silva, Nathan Nelson, Nisha, Noel Lawrence, Regina Studinson, Santhosh Nair, Shagopi Kumaraswamy, Shannon Belvin, She Geetha, Shilpa Pillai, Shyma Anil, Smirithi Subramanyanan and Sonia Damien. In addition to this, a short play of the life of Jesus from birth to the crucifixion was also re-enacted.

The event was attended by Malayalee Association’s President Mr. Nash Rawther, General Secretary Mr.Angilose Francis, Directors Mr.Balamurali Nair and Mr.Ajith Lekshamnan. Mr Ashok Kumar, President of SNGM also attended.

The programme presenters were Praveen Issac, Dominic Elvin and Sonia Damien. Sunil Pereira and Shajan Joseph played a major role in putting the programmes together for the big day. Winners of the Sports Events were presented by Anil Raphael and Galvin Gabriel.

Once again Jamesh Pereira entertained the little ones as Santa Claus.

The association secretary, Damien Roberts, thanked the guests for their participation and co-operation.
