Christmas and New Year celebrations 2002

Kerala Catholic Association of the UK celebrated Christmas and New Year on January 4, 2003 at Fatherstone Hall, Montgague Road, Couthall, Middlesex. The progreamme started with a prayer song by Joy Peter. The association president, Terrence Kabalias welcomed the guests and spoke about the importance of active participation of members and reflected on the association's activities during the past year. Fr. Mampillil spoke about the meaning of Christmas celebration and gave his blessings to the events of the day.

Children's variety entertainment was the highlights of the event. Children who presented these programmes were Alexi Antony, Angelina Mathews, Antony Pius, Ashley Terence, Aswathy, Christina Var4ghese, Daniel Rozario, Deena Vincent, Eleanora Peter, Jamie Pius, Jeslin Thomas, Jesvin Thomas, Joanne Pius, Johnny Jose, Kameels Pius, Kyle Gomez, Martin Varghese, Mervin Peter, Mithula Gomez, Naomie, Natasha Gomez, Natasha Nelson, Nathan Nelson, Pamela Pius, Rachael Gomez, Rodric Johnson, Selina Varghese, Shalin Edwin, Sharon Edwin, Sheffna Baldwin, Sherine Gomez, Shilpa Baldwin, Shereen Edwin, Shyma Baldwin, Sian Jaison, Sonia Damien, Stephanie Terence, Tanya and Tommy Jose. As in the tradition, all gusts who attended enjoyed a hearty meal.

The programme also included 'kalaripayattu' by Sajeev and Elango and 'Ganamela' led by Joy. The entertainment ended with a drama presented by MKA of Southall. Coleen Jose was presented with a cash award for achieving the highest mark in GCSE in the last academic year. Bobby Jose was also presented the award for his achievement for the year 2000.

The association secretary, Damien Roberts, thanked the guests for their participation and co-operation. People from East Ham, and Croydon also attended the event. Asianet covered the programme for the highlights to be shown at a later date.
